Cargo and equipment transport
Helicopter transport for parts, tools and supplies that need to reach an installation sooner than a supply vessel can bring them.
What the service involves
Cargo can travel on its own flight or alongside passengers, depending on its weight, its size and the aircraft available. Every piece is checked against its declaration before loading.
Helicopter cargo is limited by the size of the doors and hold and by the payload left after fuel and passengers. Large or very heavy items are often better sent by vessel; if that is the case, our reply explains why.
Who it is for
Maintenance teams, logistics coordinators and contractors who need items delivered to an installation on a specific date.

Typical requirements
- An accurate weight and dimensions for every piece
- Packaging that protects the item and can be handled with the equipment available on the helideck
- Consignment documents and any customs or export paperwork the shipment needs
- A named person to receive the cargo on the installation
What to send with your request
- A description of each item and what it is for
- Weight and dimensions per piece, including packaging
- Whether any item is, or contains, dangerous goods
- Collection point, receiving installation and the date it must arrive
- Handling instructions, for example fragile, keep upright or temperature limits
Dangerous goods
Many everyday items count as dangerous goods in aviation, among them lithium batteries, gas cylinders, paints, solvents, fuel samples and some chemicals. They must be declared in your request.
Whether they can be carried, and under which conditions, is decided case by case by the operator and confirmed in writing before you send anything. Undeclared dangerous goods will not be loaded.
Size and weight limits
Maximum piece weight, dimensions and total payload depend on the aircraft and the route, so we do not publish fixed figures. They are confirmed in your quote. Items that arrive heavier or larger than declared may not be loaded.
Seat numbers, baggage allowances and payload depend on the aircraft type and the route. They are stated in your quote; we do not publish fixed figures here.
Acceptance and handover
Cargo is accepted for a flight only after it has been checked against the declaration. Your quote states where and when items must be handed over and who receives them offshore.
Weather and scheduling
Cargo flights face the same weather and helideck limits as passenger flights. If a flight is postponed, we agree the next steps for the cargo with you.
Safety and regulatory limits
The operator can refuse items on the day if they are undeclared, poorly packed or heavier than declared. This protects the aircraft, the crew and the people on the installation.

Questions about this service
How do I find out whether my item fits?
Send the weight and dimensions of each piece with your request. We check them against the aircraft and confirm in the quote.
Can cargo travel with passengers?
Sometimes. It depends on the aircraft, the weight and whether the item may be carried in the cabin or the hold. The quote says how it will travel.
What if the cargo is heavier than declared?
It may not be loaded, because the load plan is based on the declared weight. Weigh items with their packaging before you send the request.
