Offshore crew transfer

Crew changes between an onshore heliport and offshore installations, planned or one-off. You can also request a single pick-up from, or drop-off to, an installation.

What the service involves

A crew transfer carries personnel between a shore base and an offshore installation with a helideck. The flight is planned around that helideck, its operating hours and the installation’s own procedures for arriving and departing personnel.

Return legs, flights that call at more than one installation and one-way flights can all be requested. The quote lists exactly which legs are included.

Who it is for

Installation operators, drilling and service contractors, and travel coordinators who arrange transport for offshore personnel.

Typical requirements

  • Landing permission from the installation for every landing
  • A passenger manifest with names exactly as they appear on photo ID
  • Body and baggage weights for every passenger, used for load planning
  • Offshore survival training and medical certificates where the installation operator requires them

What to send with your request

  • Departure heliport or airport and the installation name
  • Preferred date and time, and any fixed shift-change times
  • Number of passengers (names can follow before the flight)
  • Approximate baggage per person, and any tools travelling with the crew
  • Who should receive the quote and booking updates

Weight and baggage

Soft-sided bags are usually easier to load than hard cases. Bags and passengers are normally weighed at check-in, because the load plan depends on accurate figures.

Seat numbers, baggage allowances and payload depend on the aircraft type and the route. They are stated in your quote; we do not publish fixed figures here.

Weather and scheduling

Crew changes are often tied to shift rotations, so tell us how much flexibility you have. If weather or deck conditions stop a flight, we contact you about a new time. What happens to the price is set out in the cancellation terms of your quote.

Safety and regulatory limits

The aviation operator named in your quote is responsible for the flight and for the passenger safety briefing. The pilot in command can delay, divert or cancel a flight for safety reasons, and the installation can refuse a landing.

How to request this flight

  1. Open the request form

Sign in, choose the flight type and add the route, date and passenger or cargo details.

  2. We review it

We check aircraft, helideck and timing, and may contact you with questions.

  3. Written quote

The quote appears in your account with the price, aircraft type, operator and cancellation terms.

  4. Accept and pay

Once you accept the quote, you can pay using the methods it lists.

What happens after you submit. Your request appears under My bookings with the status “Submitted”. Nothing is charged at this stage. If the flight cannot be arranged, the request is closed and you are told why.

Questions about this service

Can names on the manifest change after booking?

Tell us as early as possible. Whether a change is still possible depends on the operator’s deadline for the final manifest; we confirm what can be done before the flight.

Do passengers need offshore survival training?

Many installation operators require it, together with an offshore medical certificate. The installation sets the requirement, so check with the employer or the installation before the flight.

Can tools travel with the crew?

They can be requested with the passenger flight. Declare each item and its weight. Tools containing batteries, gas or chemicals count as dangerous goods and need separate approval.
